Greater flexibility in electronic communication
SERV is amending the final provisions of its General Terms and Conditions (GTC) with effect from 1 June 2026. The aim of the amendment is to allow for greater flexibility in the expansion of electronic communication with customers.
In future, SERV’s formal requirements will be based exclusively on administrative law provisions. Previous references to private law will be omitted. In doing so, SERV is establishing the foundation for greater flexibility in the digital processing of guarantee and insurance products.
A first visible change concerns the signing of documents: from mid-June 2026, SERV’s guarantee and insurance products will no longer be issued with original signatures but with facsimile signatures. The validity and enforceability of the products remain unaffected by this amendment of the form requirements.
With the new GTC, SERV is taking a further step towards modern, efficient and customer-oriented communication. If you have any questions, the experts of the SERV Legal Team will be pleased to assist you.
