Swiss Export Risk Insurance (SERV) supports Swiss export companies by facilitating their access to international markets. We offer insurance and guarantee products to cover political and economic risks. These products protect against payment defaults and facilitate access to low-cost credit. This enables Swiss exporters to offer longer payment terms without affecting their liquidity.
We take the principle of equal opportunity seriously and actively embrace it in our day-to-day work. This is reflected, among other things, by the fact that no less than 55% of our managers are women. And we don’t compromise when it comes to equal pay either. Our commitment to fairness and transparency has been recognised with the ‘Fair-ON-Pay Advanced’ certificate.

What stands out about SERV as an employer, in your opinion?
What I particularly appreciate about SERV is the flexibility and mutual respect. You are given a lot of scope to work under your own responsibility and can genuinely develop.
When I applied, there was no issue with continuing to study alongside my work. Having flexibility with my working schedule was a massive bonus, with performance being judged not by my mere presence, but by results and the effort that I put in. The atmosphere is professional, and personal initiative is highly appreciated. It is also exciting to work with colleagues from different specialist areas and learn from their knowledge and experience. Moreover, I greatly value the ability to put what I am learning in my studies into practice.
What values and culture typify your day-to-day working life?
Continual improvement is one of SERV’s core values. You really see that ethos in action, and I find it motivating. Particularly in Support, when I learn or discover new things, I see how important it is to keep getting better.
I find the feedback culture extremely valuable: it is positive and constructive, which helps me to keep improving. In my everyday work, I experience a culture of respect, which makes collaborating with others a very positive experience. The working environment is calm and relaxed, without being dull – people have good conversations and a bit of fun from time to time.
What benefits does SERV bring you personally?
The flexibility that SERV offers is definitely a huge benefit. I particularly value being able to arrange my working hours flexibly around my studies. That’s especially useful when I’ve got a lot to learn or exams coming up.
The ability to work from home is also really practical. It enables me to maintain a good work-life balance, and I am better able to combine my job with my personal development.
