Zurich, 24 June 2024 – The Federal Council has elected Luca Albertoni as a new member of the SERV Board of Directors. The new addition is the Director of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce for the Canton of Ticino. He will take office on 1 July 2024 and serve out the rest of the current term of office (2024 to 2027).
The general elections for the Board of Directors for the term of office from 2024 to 2027 were held in November 2023. Eight members were reappointed or re-elected. Another member was added to the SERV Board of Directors in order to make it more flexible, enhance its expertise and ensure that Italian-speaking Switzerland is represented. SERV has previously had good experience with having the maximum complement of nine board members.
According to Barbara Hayoz, Chairwoman of the SERV Board of Directors, “Luca Albertoni adds to the specialist expertise of the SERV Board of Directors regarding the Swiss SME landscape, particularly when it comes to the canton of Ticino. He also brings a strong network among Swit-zerland’s chambers of industry and commerce to the table. We look forward to working with Luca.”
Luca Albertoni, the newly elected member of the SERV Board of Directors, says, “It is a great honour to share with SERV my legal expertise and experience gained over years of working with exporting companies. SERV products are increasingly important in a complex and uncertain in-ternational environment.”
Luca Albertoni was born in Lugano and grew up in Bellinzona. He obtained his Lizenziat degree in Law, specialising in commercial law, at the University of Bern. He joined the legal department of the Ticino Chamber of Industry and Commerce in 2000, and has served as the organisation’s Director since 2008. He is also a member of the board of the Swiss Employers’ Association, as well as Chairman of the Ticino section of “ICT-Berufsbildung Schweiz”.
