Today, SERV publishes its Annual Report 2016. It closed its tenth financial year with a positive net result of CHF 72.7 m – once again an improvement compared to the previous year. With a total of 956 transactions completed – in comparison with 864 in the previous year – the demand for SERV prod-ucts rose to record levels. On 29 March 2017, SERV won the Trade Finance Award „Deal of the Year 2016“. SERV was awarded for the innovative insurance structure of a delivery to Russia of train compositions produced by Swiss [...] ) was covered by means of buyer credit insurance issued by SERV. Creditor Gazprombank Group was refinanced by GPB Aerofinance, which was established to allow funding by the capital markets of this Gazprombank asset. The Federal Council today approved SERV’s 2015 Annual Report. The overvalued Swiss franc, financial bottlenecks in many public budgets, and political unrest resulted in expansion and replacement investments in the industrial, energy, and infrastructure sectors being postponed or suspended in 2015. The Board of Directors of SERV has elected Peter Gisler as the future Director of SERV. On 1 January 2017, he will succeed Herbert Wight, who is retiring at the end of the year. Peter Gisler is an experienced expert in the area of export financing and is currently employed as Group Vice President and Global Head Export and Trade Finance at ABB Ltd. (Group Holding) in Zurich. The Federal Council has approved SERV’s strategic goals for 2016–2019. During this period, SERV will concentrate on actively supporting Swiss exporters of goods and services and will therefore [...] location. Small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) represent a significant portion of the Swiss export industry. SERV aims to offer products tailored to their needs. SMEs should be able to use key export financing instruments even if the transactions are relatively small.
