Guidelines for multinational enterprises

The OECD Guidelines for Enterprises contain recommendations for companies operating internationally. They deal, amongst other things, with the following topics:

• Competition
• Conditions of employment
• Consumer protection
• Corruption
• Environment
• Human rights
• Taxation
• Transparency

The MNE Guidelines (OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises) make recommendations on the responsible behaviour of enterprises. In 43 countries, non compliant behaviour can be reported to a National Contact Point, which then institutes informal conciliation proceedings. Switzerland too has set up such a Contact Point.
