Expense premiums
We do not charge an administrative application or processing premium for basic insurance application approvals or for insurance policies, but only for additional review work over and above administrative processing.
We levy review, extension or special review premiums that do not count towards the insurance premium and that cannot be reimbursed. Expense premiums are adjusted to reflect increases but not reductions of order amounts. Previously paid expense premiums are taken into account.
Expense premium applications:
| Review premium | Extension premium | Special review premium |
Corporate Risk | Yes | Yes | for complex financial structures or environmentally sensitive projects |
Private banks on a case-by-case basis | Yes | Yes | for complex financial structures or environmentally sensitive projects |
Generally recognised banks | No | No | for complex financial structures or environmentally sensitive projects |
Sovereign risk and other state buyer | No | No | for complex financial structures or environmentally sensitive projects |
Other expense premiums
Premium surcharges of up to 100 percent are possible for heightened risk cases. A heightened level of risk exists if, for example, country classification conditions or transaction details according to SERV's cover practice are not fully met, lines of credit to the debtor or country are exhausted, or project-specific risks exist.
