Agreement for the early repayment of Jordan's debt
In line with the October 2007 framework of the Paris Club, Switzerland and Jordan signed an Agreement in Amman on 30.3.2008 for the early repayment of Jordan's debt amounting to CHF 43.4 m. The respective payment was effected on 31.3.2008 at market value. The four rescheduling agreements of 1995, 1997, 1999 and 2003, which foresee amortization of the debts up to 2021, are therefore abrogated. The uncovered part of 16.7 % will be paid to the insurance holders and assignees.
