15th Meeting of the Environmental Practitioners of the OECD Export Credit Group

SERV hosted the 15th Meeting of the Environmental Practitioners of the OECD Export Credit Group held from 8 to 10 February 2010. Some 50 environmental and social specialists from export credit insurers in the OECD area and from Brazil, Slovenia and China took part.
The OECD Export Credit Group is tasked with reviewing the “Recommendation on Common Approaches on the Environment and Officially Supported Export Credits” by the end of 2010. This guideline serves as a foundation for the environmental review of export credit insurance transactions – and also applies to SERV. The first two days therefore saw the participants discuss the relevance and practicality of the rules and the experiences made in applying them. On the third day, a representative from the environment section of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) carried out a workshop. A traditional fondue gave our guests the opportunity to try something typically Swiss and enjoy a convivial evening.
