Loss
In the event of a loss, the policyholder has to take immediate measures to avert further losses or to minimise any loss that has already occurred. SERV employees are available to assist at all times. The insured event occurs after the expiry of the mandated waiting period following the realisation of an insured risk.
Claims settlement
Forms to request indemnification can be obtained from SERV. Proof of loss must be enclosed with the form. Please note that a claim must be submitted no later than two years after the loss occurred (Art. 17 para. 2 SERV-V). Where payments are subsequently received by the policyholder, these must be remitted to SERV automatically in proportion to its share.
Calculation of the loss
In the case of pre-shipment risk cover, losses are indemnified on the basis of the production cost for the undelivered part. In all other cases, the loss is calculated on the basis of the insured claim.
